The budget-friendly wood look — durable, scratch-resistant, and easy on the wallet.
What This Is
What Laminate means for your home
Laminate is a high-density fiberboard core with a photographic wood image sealed under a tough wear layer. It's the most affordable way to get a realistic wood look, and modern AC4 and AC5 commercial-grade laminates are surprisingly durable. It's not waterproof like vinyl, and it can't be refinished like hardwood — but for the price, it's hard to beat for rental units, investment properties, and budget-conscious families.
- Most affordable wood-look option — real value for the price
- Highly scratch- and dent-resistant wear layer
- Click-lock floating install — fast and clean
- Realistic wood imagery with textured surface

Why laminate
The honest reasons this floor makes sense — and where it doesn't.
Best Value Wood Look
Laminate gives you the wood aesthetic at the lowest price point. Ideal for budgets and investment properties.
Tough Wear Layer
AC4/AC5 commercial ratings resist scratches, dents, and fading. Great for high-traffic and rental units.
Fast, Clean Install
Floating click-lock means no glue, no nails, no fumes. Most rooms are done in a day with minimal mess.
Fade-Resistant
The wear layer blocks UV, so the print won't yellow or fade in sunny rooms like some woods can.

How It Works
How we install it
Clear, simple, and predictable. You always know what's happening and what's next.
Subfloor Prep
Like all floating floors, laminate needs a flat subfloor. We level dips and lay a moisture barrier where required.
Underlayment
Most laminate has attached underlayment; if not, we add foam for sound dampening and a softer feel.
Acclimation
Boxes sit in the room for 48 hours so the planks adjust to temperature and humidity before install.
Click Installation
Planks lock together floating above the subfloor. We stagger joints and maintain expansion gaps.
Trim & Cleanup
Transitions and baseboards go in, gaps are checked, and we leave the space clean and ready to use.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Laminate or luxury vinyl — what's the difference?
Laminate is more scratch-resistant and cheaper, but only water-resistant (not waterproof). Luxury vinyl is fully waterproof and more stable in humidity. For kitchens, basements, and pets, we lean vinyl. For dry rooms on a budget, laminate wins.
Can laminate get wet?
Brief spills wiped up quickly are fine. But standing water or a slow leak will swell the HDF core and ruin the planks. For wet areas, choose luxury vinyl instead.
Can laminate be refinished?
No. The wood look is a printed image under a wear layer — there's no real wood to sand. If it's deeply scratched or damaged, planks need to be replaced, not refinished.
Is laminate good for rentals?
Excellent for rentals. AC4/AC5 laminate resists tenant wear and tear, and the price keeps turnover costs low. Many of our investor clients choose it for exactly this reason.
