H and M Limited · Flooring SpecialistsCarpet & Carpet Tile Installation in Toronto & GTA
Soft, warm, and quiet — plush residential carpet and tough commercial carpet tile, installed tight.
What This Is
What Carpet means for your home
Carpet is the original comfort floor — soft underfoot, warm in winter, and the best sound absorber there is. We install two kinds: plush residential wall-to-wall carpet for bedrooms and living spaces, and heavy-duty commercial carpet tile for offices, basements, and high-traffic areas. Carpet tile is modular, so if one gets stained you replace just that tile, not the whole room.
- Softest, warmest floor option — ideal for bedrooms and stairs
- Best sound absorption — quiets footsteps and echoes instantly
- Commercial carpet tile is modular and replaceable by the tile
- Huge range of colours, piles, and textures to match any room
Our crew at workWhy Choose This
Why carpet
The honest reasons this floor makes sense — and where it doesn't.
Unmatched Comfort
Nothing beats carpet for barefoot comfort. It's warm in winter and soft for kids learning to walk.
Best Sound Control
Carpet absorbs impact sound better than any hard floor. The difference in condos and upstairs rooms is immediate.
Kid & Senior Friendly
Cushions falls and provides grip. The safest floor for toddlers and anyone unsteady on their feet.
Modular Carpet Tile
Commercial carpet tile lets you swap a single stained tile instead of replacing the whole room. Smart for busy spaces.
The Specs
Carpet at a glance
No fluff — just the facts you need to decide.
How It Works
How we install it
Clear, simple, and predictable. You always know what's happening and what's next.
Subfloor Prep
We clean, level, and tack-strip the perimeter. For carpet tile, we prep and prime the concrete for a solid glue bond.
Padding
Quality padding extends carpet life and adds comfort. We lay the right density pad for your traffic level.
Stretch-In
Residential carpet is power-stretched tight across the room using a knee kicker and stretcher — no wrinkles, no ripples.
Seams & Transitions
Seams are heat-joined and hidden in low-traffic areas. Transitions to hard floors are clean and flush.
Final Groom & Trim
We trim edges, tuck carpet under baseboards, groom the pile, and vacuum. The room is ready to enjoy.
Best Rooms
Where carpet shines
Every floor has its sweet spot. Here's where this one earns its keep.
Bedrooms
Warm, quiet, and soft for bare feet first thing in the morning.
Stairs
Grip and cushion — far safer than hard surfaces on stairs.
Basements
Adds warmth to cold concrete and dampens the hollow echo.
Offices
Commercial carpet tile handles chairs and foot traffic, replaceable by the tile.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Carpet or hard floor — which is better for stairs?
Carpet is safer on stairs. It provides grip and cushions a fall, which matters for kids and seniors. Hard floors on stairs are a slip risk. We recommend carpet for stairs almost every time.
What's the difference between carpet and carpet tile?
Wall-to-wall carpet is one continuous piece stretched tight over padding — softer and more residential. Carpet tile is individual squares glued down — tougher, modular, and you can replace a single stained tile. Tile is better for offices and high-traffic; carpet for comfort.
How long does carpet last?
Quality residential carpet lasts 10–15 years with proper padding and care. Commercial carpet tile can go 15–20 years. Cheaper carpet with thin padding wears out in 5–8. Padding quality matters as much as the carpet itself.
Is carpet bad for allergies?
Actually, carpet traps dust and allergens out of the air until you vacuum, whereas hard floors let dust recirculate. With regular vacuuming and professional cleaning, carpet is fine for most allergy sufferers.
